• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

abs fault, twice, blew 10amp running light fuse twice, hit the taillights to turn on

These symptoms seem to be pointing to a loose electrical plug in the lights circuit or a direct short to ground. Either fault would/can cause a fuse to blow and would be intermittent because of vibration and bumps. If I've read this correctly it started with a ABS fault and running light fuse blowing.

Also the engine shut down could be caused by the GPS.

A failing relay can also cause all the above symptoms. If you have a replacement set of relays install them and if the problem goes away then you know for sure. I had to replace all the relays at 1000 to 2000 miles because they kept shutting us down. We have had no such problems since replacing them.

The plugs may not have been plugged in tight after the deer accident.

I'm out of town right now and don't have my electrical schematics with me. Ken krb1945

I tried to get some from diga key in thief river falls and they said that Tyco would not let people buy them, is there another manufacter to get them from them on here?

Relay part numbers

Yes you can get the relays at most auto parts stores. I'll get the part numbers for you in a few tics of the clock. Will up date this post. Also I have found that shopping around you will find varying prices on these relays. As of this date I find O'Rily's has the best prices. Small relay is from 8 to 19 depending length of warranty. Large relay 15.99 to 29.99. Same as above.

After a little research I find the large tyco crosses to a R3109 and the small tyco crosses to a R3110. The R3110 is a 30/20. The R3109 is a direct substitute in both the Borg W cross and in the master Pro cross.

Just so you know... I use them in our three spyders. Haven't had one single problem with "limp" since changing from the tyco's. MasterPro is the brand I am using. They are available in the BW and a couple of other brand names but these are the most expensive.

well I got some fault codes and the bps(brake postion sensor) was in the fault and is in the wiring for the running lights, I worked one it is the switch that clicks when you put the brakes on, I also ordered the lps (low pressure switch) is the other switch on the brake itself, I had 130 of some random fault and some vss that I cleared.

got the valve covers done, had to wait at the dealership all day because the honda house got some and is luther honda house and BRP would not send them parts because of a name issue, so one of the owners drove to alexandria and got them.

Luthers honda house is legit, their wrench dave is one of the best I have met.

I have not had a fault since I went thru all the wiring, will see what happens,

Good to hear you got it all cleared up and that you found a good mechanic to fix it.

I for one think there are tooooo many whistles and bells on the spyder. It seems the "powers that be", ie: government, want to take all the fun out of riding them. What happened to the good old days when you were responsible for your riding behavior? Ken krb1945

still got a small oil leak, don't know if its just old oil from when it was leaking, got to clean the whole thing. The switchs should be in a week
