• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Aaaarrrrrrghhhh!!!!!!

Service and reputation are everything when you're working for the public.

The solution to poor turn around time seems simple to me....give your service guys more hours! It's fine for the sales people to have 'bankers hours' but if the service guys can't keep up with the work load then they need to spend more wrench time.

I worked a lot more 16 hr days than 8 hr ones in my little tank-testing business, and, after the first couple years of getting it off the ground, I never put a nickel into marketing or advertising.

If these dealers go into business to make money.....why do they leave so much of it on the table?

As Bruiser posted, we talked to them almost two weeks ago, explained that we would be going on a long trip with it, and told them when we were bringing it in. No problem, they said! I can't ride it with a bad tire, but right now I really don't care if they get to the suspension before we leave. I just want my new tire to be able to get to the barbeque!! We're not the only ones who have had problems with them. A friend of ours has a Victory, and he's not happy either. I guess if anything could make us feel better is we're not alone on this. BRP service needs a lot of improvement!!

"How long does it take to change a tire"

Technically, not that long, it took me 1 week. When I started, I had nothing but a youtube video and a dream. I didnt even have the tire. I ordered it online, completely took the thing apart myself, took it somewhere to get it mounted, and put it back on myself.

So, a dealer taking longer than that WITH the shizzle onsite is redonkulous, appointment or not.

To back up Coz..

I purchased my RT from Middletown Cycle (Ohio) (40 Miles from me), and called to make a appointment for my 3500 mile service... They told me 8 weeks... I let them know I had purchased the RT from them, that hemed and hawed down to 4, maybe 3 weeks... I told them I'd let them know... I contacted Lexington Motorsports (Kentucky) (100 Miles from me), and was given 2 weeks...
Now to be fair, Middletown's service I have no complaints with, but Lexington were just as good...

Tire changing

A forum member and riding buddy (rnet) has a tire shop set up...well, his son does...and I will go there when it comes time for new sneakers, but when I had my 2-wheelers (2 VMax's & an FJR) I got this cheap little changer. It's cheap, easy to use and cuts you free from the 'give-a-damn' stealers.

note: A motorcycle balancer won't work on the front tires without some adaptation....or I s'pose you could use Dyna-beads (which I personally don't care for).

I call my dealer J & J Powersports in DE approx 2 weeks ahead of when i think i will need service. I ASK them what day they can perform the service I want and that I will be waiting for it. They have not let me down yet and get right on my spyder when i arrive. Its about 50 mi ride, which is fine with me:clap:.

My Spyder friends and I all go to Pro Caliber, in Longview,Wa. for our service work. For me, it's an 80 + mile trip and a whole day while I wait. IT'S WORTH IT!!! Good service is everything if I want to.........

Ride in comfort,

John

I agree entirely with you John.I only deal with people who back their product &service up.We give it in our company and I look for it where I deal.Thats one reason I purchased from you.

i could be in trouble

after reading many posts concering bad or lack lustre dealers i hope mine will be ok ,if hes not im in big trouble the dealer in question is 450 miles away and the next closest one is 850 miles away so im hoping that he will be a good one or i may have to move to another state

cheers mick

WOW. Just got a call from the service manager at the dealer. They're in the process of changing the tire and he wanted to update me on the suspension issue. He's going to order a new compressor and have it ready for when we get back from the BBQ. This is what I talked to them about when we took the Spyder in, if you can't fix it we can still use it. He did say the suspension was working normally, no faults (which I knew) and they talked to BRP about the excessive noise. So the compressor will be replaced under B.E.S.T. As I said before and I want to emphasize, these are good folks, just need to tweek their service and a certain mechanics attitude. And when a customer is unhappy...

Awwweehhh shucks guys, I try to treat everyone like I want to be treated, I wish sometimes we could make things happen faster but sometimes we fall short, I do promise as a Spyder Ryder your top priority to us. Thanks for the kind words guys.

Picked up the RT today. Kris drove it home and said it's a lot smoother, not as much vibration as before. Len, if all the dealers were as good as y'all we wouldn't have anything to complain about. And if all the spyder ryders that said they wised they lived closer to you did, you'd have to have a dealership the size of Rhode Island!! :2thumbs:

Jeez, I feel like the minority. I try to schedule ahead of time when I can, but twice I have dropped by for an immediate problem and they looked and fixed right away. I bought 1 spyder and do most of the maintenance, so I'm no VIP. Just good customer service!

What dealer do you use? I live in the Dallas area (Carrollton). I don't have a Spyder..yet.. But itmis never too early to learn who the good dealers are.

I totally understand the issues here. I wouldn't trust the dealer whom I bought ours from to even touch the bike (100 miles away).:lecturef_smilie: The dealer that is only 3 miles from my house, yes 3 miles, is horrible and can't be trusted to perform the work that you bring it in for. :banghead: ...So next up is Cowtown (120 miles). I hear good things on this board about them.

Wow how fortunate you are to live that close to Cowtown and their incredible service department and customer service. This would be a "no-brainer" decision for me... for you....
