• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A whopping 3 miles

You don't want a GEL charger (which is again, another animal), you want a charger specifically designed to handle AGM batteries. The terms are used interchangably but that is a shame since they are not the same thing.

I have a battery charger that will do all 3 types. Lead Acid, Gel and AGM. Some sense the battery type and will switch automatically to the correct charge cycle. I have to set mine manually.

Hope this helps.

Great info, Ron. 1) is my 2011 RT a gel or AGM? I have never seen it. 2) What brand of charger do you have? I am not aware of one that charges different types other than deep cycle....thanks for the post...

All Spyders use the AGM type battery. It's the best way to go and I appreciate that BRP went with this one.

This is the charger I use. It is the The Schumacher XC75 but there are many others in various configurations that will also do the job.

Here a link with more info. They sell for about $65.00 at Wal-Mart.

This is the application guide to the Battery Tender products. Looks like most of them are good for AGM batteries.

Hey, I have the Battery Tender Plus and the site you sent says it does AGM, Gel, etc. I am good to go as that is what I have on BR1. I have a larger model and it will also so AGM and Gel plus deep cycle...I have it on my motohome's deep cycle coach batteries. Thanks again.
