• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. A survey about the Trailer...

Did anybody else get an email from BRP asking for input about the 622? It seemed as if they were looking for why they're not selling better.. (IMHO)

I wouldn't be surprised. I was at my dealer's the other day and the sales manager practically begged me to take a trailer off his hands. My problem is that I live in a townhouse and my "space" is limited. (two cars and my RT) I have a place where I store my boat and "haul trailer". I just don't know if I have room for this trailer at my house. Price he was quoting was around 3 K. I would really like to have one.

I got that in an e-mail. Tried to fill it out but it wouldn't take it when I put down Harbor Freight in what brand do you own. At the price they are asking I can buy a camping trailer and have it all decked out. It is a beautiful trailer but way overpriced. I paid more for the hitch than I have invested in the trailer. :dontknow:

I am not surprised that they are not selling as they seemed way over priced at$4879.99 Canadian:yikes::yikes::yikes:.Dealers in my area are selling them at full list price:yikes::yikes:. If I was going to invest that much money in trailer it would be a camping trailer so that the trailer would do it all.:2thumbs:

I didn't get no survey, I love my trailer and will be ordering most all the accessories except for the light. I bought the trailer that went with my PE but not at the same time, I waited 5 months. Maybe BRP doesn't know I own one.

If the trailer was a camper I am not sure I would get it if it took up too much space for my other stuff. Would be nice if they offered both choices. Iam a motel/hotel travel ryder now. Hot showers and a commode for me.

I am glad you posted in the RT-Touring section even though anything in the general discussion section gets more views, I am not sure if there are any RS/GS that have an RT622

I got my trailer in09 I think and had the hitch put on my RsE5 went to Iowa then to Wi with it and someplace in there weighed it. Came in at 1500lbs me,byke and trailer( loaded with camping gear) Figure I WILL HAVE to LOSE Weight!!!:roflblack: Then in 10 I got the RT-S PE. Had the hitch and all transfered to the RT. Used it once with the RT and I really have to admit it was pricey but worth it. When on the road passing trucks didn't faze it. Follows Right behind me without a problem!!! Just needs some kind of braking system of it's own. Those panic stops are NOT for the feint hearted!!!:yikes: Told that to the BRP survey folks don't know if it will get brakes or not but sure would help. The darn thing is big enough for me to climb in and sac out!!!:roflblack:i probably should load it up and drive it around for some milage gas checking. Has to use more gas towing than I am using now. And THAT's bad enough. RT just getting broken in at a little over 1200 miles. :(

Got my survey as well. Trailer is cool and all, but I don't really have a need. Now if they made a pull car I could fit a pair of 10 year olds in, I'd maybe consider spending waaaaay too much for a trailer.

:agree:Way over priced!

Years ago I had a Bushtec that I pulled behind my Goldwing. Beautiful trailer, and it cost about the same as the 622. I bought the 622 because I wanted the trailer to match the bike, it was very nice, and pulled like a dream. This was just one more over priced option on a very expensive bike. But now that I have it, I am glad that I spent the money. It works well with the bike and makes long trips a pleasure.
All the reasons given for not buying it make sense, but I'm glad I bought it, along with other over priced extras (GPS and intercom (which don't work together), and we're looking at many years of wonderful experiences.

I received and filled out the trailer questionairre. To many $ for the trailer to start with. When I travel, I would rather stay in a nice hotel rather than haul camping gear. I can get everything for a week for two on board the RTS now.

:agree: .... and I really don't need much room for my Credit Cards.

Some people are campers, some prefer motels. I would take a familiar bed (or sleeping bag) over a strange one any day, but that's just me. I've been motorcycle camping for nearly fifty years now, so I guess it's just hard to change. Neither Nancy nor I can crawl into a tent comfortably anymore, after new knees, so our choice came down to a very large tent tucked into an RT-622, or a pop-up tent camper. For roughly the same dollars, the camping trailer won. I'd love to have an RT-622 for the supurb handling and exceptional, matching appearance, but there is only so much storage room...or money in my wallet.

Hey Scott, my knees are feeling kind of old and it is getting more difficult for me to get up out of a tent (especially with my diabetes I have to get up 4 or 5 times each night). What kind of pop-up camper do you have? Could you post a few pics with it hooked to your Spyder?

We have an Aspen Sentry (by Trailmaster), like the one Draboo just got. Queen-sized bed, 300 pounds, great ventilation. Sets up in five minutes. I do not have a pic of it attached to the RT, but there are some other pics of it in my album.

I also received the survey from BRP. I agree with what everyone is saying both positive and negative. We mostly bought it because it "looks good" as part of the package with our RTS SM5. Also we received a good deal on it when we bought in April, 2010. It handles like a dream on the highway, in fact, you don't notice it behind except for the reduction in gas mileage. When towing fully loaded with the wife and me we average about 27 mpg. This seems to be pretty good when I hear others getting less than 30 without the extra weight. Without the trailer we still average just over 30 mpg and we usually travel 2 up. We don't speed down the highway and we usually take back roads so we can see the sights.
