• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A suprise

Ron,
I dig the charts; thanks!
It also shows a VERY important aspect of the 991's powerband; you've got about a 2,000 rpm range between peak torque and horsepower. that gives you a pretty fair amount of room to shift, and have the rpms in the next gear drop right into the Peak Torque area of the rev range; the best way to fly! :2thumbs:

It is really pretty simple. It's all about the sweet spot where power and efficiency meet. In baseball, if a hitter's bat strikes the ball too early in the swing or too late in the swing the ball doesn't go very far. But if the bat strikes the ball in the hitter's 'Sweet Spot', even a weaker hitter can send the ball a long way. A strong hitter has a bigger sweet spot than a weaker hitter. But they all have them.

Thanks for this big and well thought out post. I understand better now.

Dan

I have a 2012 RTS-SE5 and I shift from 3rd to 4th gear @ 4,000 rpms.

Also, I keep the rpms above 4,000 rpms. Deanna777:ohyea:
