• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A Silent Film....

....from the year 1936 which shows life in Lenham, the village in Kent where I spent my childhood.

Note: I used the phrase "spent my childhood" rather than "grew up" as I haven't yet achieved the latter.
Note: Kindly remember that this was shot in 1936, Lenham has changed in lifestyle quite a bit since then!
The Tithe barn is now used as an exhibition centre and they have electricity and everything!

This seems to encourage me to go over there and take some pictures myself.....would anyone be interested in seeing them?

Anyway, here's the link: http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-lenham-a-kentish-village-1936/

You can try to download the video on to your computer, using a program like clip converter (it's free). There are others also.
You would be converting the video to a MP4 or mov file.
then upload it to YouTube

Sadly that didn't work, Vided....

I think Clip Converter's download address is in the US and also blocked.
I'll contact BFI and find out why they're being so pig-headed about where their films can be viewed....
