A "Ride To Eat" forum/category

I come from a Honda ST1300, and one of the forums I visited when I had that bike had a "ride to eat" or RTE forum/category. It was kinda neat. Anyone could post a destination for lunch, in advance, on a Sat or Sun, listing the date, time, and address of the establishment, and anyone who could make it there would make the day ride and join the group for lunch. Is there a RTE forum/category here somewhere on SL that I don't see? What do ya think of the idea? (If there isn't) I made a few. It was kinda neat meeting people from the area. Some would ride for several hrs just to meet up and eat.

There are two ways to announce a Ride To Eat here.

1- Go to the main discussion board, scroll down to the bottom, find your home state, post a get-together there. Texas has had some great meet and eats.

2 - Post an announcement on the 'Rides and Events' forum.

Very Cool Idea, my vote would be for this having it['s own category at least initially as a test.

Somehow, having a destination gives more purpose to a ride.

Isn't it ridetoeat.com? I have a mac with safari, and that works.

I think this is a great idea too even though I was very surprised to see a lot of people who live out of my state read posts that occur within this state. I guess I shouldn't be surprised because a lot of people read this "test" subforum, and that surprised me as well.

I have to admit that sometimes I intentionally post in the "general discussion" section when it is probably more appropriate to post in another section. I do this because I know it gets better coverage.
