I am not sure about the size. But your picture looks good for me. If there is a problem someone will chime in shortly.

I was able to get my Avatar pic to fit by simply cropping the photo to square, then reduce it to 96 pixels x 96 pixels. If it blurs upon reduction just auto-sharpen. I use Photoshop Elements. Right click on your current avatar (letter if your avatar is still default) and insert your 96x96 pixel image.

Upper right corner click on your username or the image of your Circle K.
In the menu that drops down, click on Signature.
