• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi Everyone,

Not too sure if I am posting in the right place, admin please move/delete if neccessary.

I am having a few problems with an order I placed with Kewl Metal and paid for in July 2014, yep nearly 12 months ago.
I paid via Paypal, so have an Invoice and payment receipt.

I have emailed them at least twice a month and have even stayed up and phoned them enquirying about my order, and have been told that
my order is being refused by Australian Customs and returned at least three times.

My last emailed replay, was that they Hilda had been on Maternity leave and that they have moved and promised personal attention to send my order
and tey would send an email with a tracking number.
Well it has been nearly three months now and have not heard anything from them.

I am starting to believe that I have done my money and will not see an order or even a refund.
Short of ringing in from overseas again, does anyone know of anyone else who has had any problems and how they able to overcome them?

Cheers Dave

I ship all the time to Australia and never have a problem with Australian customs. I would proceed to work from the PayPal end if that can still be done. I don't know if there is a time limit or not.

I would just go the Paypal route.I sent thousands of $$$$$$$ over seas and got nothing.Paypal refunded the money no problem.Your only concern is Paypal might have a date issue with it being almost a year ago.I purchased things from Kewl Metal years ago when I had my RS and had no issues at all.

Dave: Unfortunately, a lot of time has transpired since you ordered. I would contact Pay Pal ASAP as they are the 3rd party payment mechanism and can certainly help you get your money back. I always pay on-line orders with Pay Pal for that very reason.

Don't know..!!

have seen several posts about kewl metal. Don't know whats going on was a good company mush be having problems somewhere. I doubt customs is an issue from what they sell. As stated above work with paypal. They have had a lot of problems like this and now have a "pay once recieved " feature. Hope they come through for you...

:agree: x 2. Kewl Metal has some issues that they need to solve with the public in order to get their customer confidence back. I do not believe they intentionally ripped you off by taking funds and not shipping the merchandise.

The request from PayPal for a refund is the logical way to go at this point in time. A phone call to Kewl Metal is also recommended and if you get the "run around" or "no communication" issues, then post back about your results.

The company either needs to step up to the plate or go away IMO.

The litany about the company has taken on a specific pattern that needs to be addressed. IMO of course.

Thank you to everyone who replied.

I have let it go for so long as every time contact was made I was assured that the order would be sent.
After hearing the quality of product and how everyone else had great service, I let it go, but now I too am worried that I willnot see anything.

Will apply to PayPal and see what happens.

Thank you Dave

Dave, it would be a good idea to offer PayPal copies of the email exchanges that you've had with
Kewl Metal then they'll be able to see that you have been assured and reassured of imminent delivery
thus causing a delay in contacting the PayPal disputes staff.

You may also be able to dispute it directly with your credit card company. Although there is normally a 90 day window, that doesn't always apply if the product was never actually delivered.

I don't know how Australian rules differ from ours in the U.S..

Hi Dave

I have already told you my thoughts on this .

For some years now I have been getting 4-6 deliveries a week from 6 or more US suppliers and I have never heard of anything being "refused by Australian Customs and returned". Buy hey.....I could be wrong :dontknow::dontknow:

:agree::agree::agree:......It's one thing to do absolutely nothing for a year and then expect a miracle ......However you have been in contact with the Seller ( multiple times ) and this is usually required. So I think at this point you can reasonably expect a complete refund.......Pay Pal can put a HUGH amount of pressure on Kewl Metal whether they like it or not ...................and welcome back OJ :yes::yes:.....Mike

Most states in the USA have a two year statute of limitations on issues of this nature. Contact PayPal immediately and demand a refund. If you don't get a positive response do the same with your credit card company.

from downunder too

Hi - some years ago I ordered a Kawasaki lower seat for ER5, as they didn't stock it in Oz and of course the kwaka order-in price was about double what I had paid thro the o/s supplier ... Customs Sent It Back ??!!@@
I did manage to get it but think in the end i HAD TO order through kwaka....
Though I doubt this applies in this case, it's a heads-up that it MIGHT be the case that customs refused it ... though surely they'd have to give a reason? Good luck.
