• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A quick little ride to the store...(Or my answer to the how do you break in a Spyder)

I know , we've all done it , a quick jaunt down to the grocery store to pick up something for breakfast and it turns into a longer ride... thus my ride Friday am felt like I was Forest Gump ...I just started running and running and I ran some more and I never did stop running... Ok , you get the picture, After taking delivery of my new Spyder Tuesday night, I decided I should break it in and joked a few times that a quick ride to the Gulf of Mexico would work for that (I live in Western NY) so I planned a little ride.....And ended up ....... You got it , 36 hours later in Southern Florida on the Gulf. The Spyder is officially broken in, It was ridden hard and put away wet, just like my..umm lawnmower, yeah lawnmower. It performed flawlessly and never missed a beat. A few pics from the ride, getting ready to pack , West Virginia, South Carolina , Our Winter home in Venice and finally Spyder got its toes in the sand but didn't go in the water on the south jetty in Venice.

So where did you have your breakfast? did you have to fast for 13 hours?

lol When I ride long distances like that I throw in bottled water and clif bars. At every gas stop i drink a small bottle of water and eat a clif bar. This keeps me moving , my gas stops averaged 5 minutes each .

:congrats:, sounds like a great ride, I hope you turned of the gas and fed the dog back in NY. :roflblack:

Btw don't take the spyder in the sand, saw a thread here where the dealer at too strip the spyder down as the sand gets places you wouldn't want it too.

:congrats: on your new Spyder! Now that's what I call a proper break in! What was your final mileage?

1431 miles , if you were asking mpg , I only checked twice , second fill up 28mpg then later on towards the end 33 mpg, which considering the last few hundred miles I rarely went under 75 mph , I am satisfied. Just needs a bigger tank. At around 1000 miles the motor really woke up and started pulling much stronger.
