A question for passengers.

Went for a ride as a passenger on my Spdyer last night and really got the feeling that it would be pretty easy to throw a passenger off if they weren't holding on well. Anybody else get that feeling??

BRP sport rack/back rest will cure that feeling.

Yeah we have the corbin seat with backrest, but it was more the turns and curves that made me feel that way. But of course I'm used to riding passenger on a Harley Ultra Classic :-)

HDX did a burn out w/ me on the back and I wasn't holding on since I wasn't expecting it. Yep, you could fly off easy if not holding on. I didn't fly off, I grabbed the rails quick but it was a surprise!

If you ride with a passenger and don't have the backrest, the passenger better have strong back, stong hands and arms, good leg position on the pegs and know how to brace against the turns.

ARMREST THREAD

Need some votes for an armrest that attaches to the backrest.:thumbup:

Yep, wife said the same thing to me. I need to get that sport rack/backrest but, the expense? A little pricey but, well made. I sat on a demo bike in Daytona and it's very comfortable. It's not like sitting in the passenger seat of the Ultra Classic but, not bad. Of course I didn't buy it for that reason. I bought it to have fun.

Before I got my own Spyder I was always a passenger on my husbands. We have the BRP back rest and I'm very comfortable in fact I fell a sleep on a long ride home one night.

Had my hubby on the back for the first "real" ryde today. Boy, could I tell when he wasn't leaning with me!!!! Once he got the hang of it, the Spyder handled OK. Though it felt heavy to me.

We don't have the backrest or passenger peg extentions. Pretty much done my mods for this year. Both retired and fixed income. We have to watch our pennies. He says there is no feeling that he will go off the back. I hope so! I sit so far forward in the seat that he doesn't touch me when he's back there. Were it not for the weight and seeing his arms in the mirrors, I'd hardly know he was back there.

I have the same feeling when riding two up. If the passenger isn't helping out with the lean, the corners feel really wonky.

I think the Spyders need seatbelts!!! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I always felt that way about being a passenger on a Goldwing or Ultra Classic, especially when I'd fall asleep!nojoke

I don't fall asleep near as much now that I'm driving my own Spyder.:roflblack:

Wonky????

I would like the armrests but my wife ordered the Corbin rear trunk. It has a backrest but I don't know if its a good as the BRP...at least the BRP's has a cradle effect. Hope to see more in the line of passenger safety and comfort in the future,,,from any source.

Well, it feels different than when I'm riding solo, and not in a good way. I couldn't come up with a good, techincal word describing how it handles two up.
