• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A question for 2014 owners

What is the purpose of the triangle above the radiator hole in the frunk? Does air go through to the engine bay? Thanks

 I never stuck anything in there to find out...
But that sure would be my guess!

They didn't put it there for nothing... :banghead:

The area of the triangles are small but they do allow air to be forced into the Frunk area. Right side might help in giving a more accurate temp reading once you are moving because the air/pressure sensor is still located here. First picture is the back of the right side.

This picture is the back of the left side tunnel. Notice the upper right of the tunnel is blocking the air flow as compared to the right side. The reason for this is the air intake tube takes a suction in this area.

Last picture is the tunnel removed. If you look at the backside of the air intake tub you will see where the air is being sucked into the tube. It is not being forced in from the front as one might believe. So when sitting still and the fan comes on in reverse the air being sucked into the engine will be hot air.

Thanks Doc it looks like one side is for sir intake and the other for ventilation to me.

So the obvious question here is do you think putting a 2014 frunk on a 2013 will have any effect inside the engine bay? Obviously the reversing fan will help keep the feet cooler at stop. There is a forum member tester for BRP using the reversing fan concept on the 2013 as is and drilled a bunch of holes in the rear to help vent the engine heat by the way.

That would be me Dave. Fan reverses below 6 MPH and when stopped. It does help in stop and go traffic and when stopped. Does nothing for the gas fumes if you have a breeze in the wrong direction. Feds have sent notice to BRP to collect any heat/fume complaints. Must be sent by December 3 or up to $7000 per day fine. It is in this forum and I read it last night. Yea! Duh, just realized it was you Dave. Way to go!

Someone here should send them all the heat/fume threads posted here. They would be overwhelmed.

Saw a 3-4 state rep for BRP here at Ride Now Sports this morning. Had a nice visit about fishing. When ready to leave I asked him if he had a card. His reply was no he didn't carry them because he did not have time to deal with all the problems and complaints. Did not quiet know how to take that?????

Bob Young(NHTSA Investigator ) is probably cross eyed from reading all the posts here I know for a fact he has been reading the posts here. There is even a screen shot from one of them in the BRP letter. There is a specific mention of one bike in particular part of the vin is blacked out in the letter that BRP and the Dealer did all they could together. He asked about the temp readings on it and the claim BRP has made on the 14 about "improved heat management".
