• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A little history please...

I have a 2011 RT-S SE5 that has been running very well. I keep reading about the 2013 heat recall and just wonder, what did BRP change from year 2012 to 2013 that caused this problem. There must be something specific, otherwise we should have the same problem on the 2011 and 2012 model years. Just asking...?:dontknow:

For the 2013 model year; BRP introduced an entirely new frame for the bikes. (We found out later, that it was in preparation for the new 1330 triple...)
This new frame included a revised front suspension, and they hung new 15" front wheels from it, and a set of Brembo brakes.
The front suspension changes DID improve the handling of the bikes, and you can't say enough good things about those Brembos...
But... the repackaging of components underneath the Tupperware, reduced the airflow through the bike...

...And the rest; is History!

Some speculate that the 1130 triple engine was to go into the '13 models but it wasn't ready so they went back to the 998 instead. The frame and other components were not originally designed for the 998 V-twin and the overheating came as a result of air flow and cooling problems that were never considered in the design.

Thank you

Thank you for the replies. Now I feel better about 2011. I can still say it runs like a scalded dog, without having to endure the literal pain.:roflblack:

Relax. .!!

your safe from harm. What is more puzzeling is that not all of the 13's had the problem. :dontknow: but there is where things went wrong, the 13 was a 14 with the wrong engine...:dontknow:...:gaah:

But they used the same frame in ALL of their bikes***

And they weren't planning on putting the 1330 in the RS, or ST...

*** subject to Tupperware mounting differnces... :D
