• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A little help

NM Wrench

I have a 14 RT-S. I bought the dual USB connector that goes in the dash rocker switch blank. JT's wiring harness wants me to wire it to the battery. Is there anywhere else I can wire it to so it comes on with the key and not on constantly. Don't want to drain the battery!
Thanks

If this is the only extra electrical you are adding to your bike, you could wire it to the input of one of the other switches. USB, in general, is very low current and should have no real effect on the other load. But if you want to do it right I would get a switched fuse box and come off of it. This would give you room for the future mods and keep each mod fused so that they don't cause you a problem. If you are handy, you could also get a 12V car relay and wire the contacts to connect the USB to the battery when energized. Wire the coil to a source that is switched. The fuse box is still the better way to go.

You could also piggy back off fuse 6 (I think check to make sure) with one of these

Well....

You can splice into the keyed acc fuse but as long as you don't leave anything plugged in there will be no drain on the battery. Then on the other side if you do want to have something charging etc you would have to have the ignition on that will have a greater drain on the battery....:dontknow:

If you still use the fuse 6 switched power to the trunk, the backside of the trunks cigar lighter or maybe the one in the frunk, if even used is a no cut splice location

I don't know which empty slot you used, but there should have been a plug connected to the back of the filler blank that is unused. There should be a switched power wire in it for the switch light. Orange with a red strip. A ground wire as well black. Get a get some crimp on spade connectors that fit in the plug and plug it in there.

I have to disagree. I would not use this method for RS, ST, RT models 2013 and newer. Don't know about the F3 models. The area that the fused boxes are in gets a lot of water and if they not well sealed I think that's a problem. Just can't see use the tap and getting the fuse box sealed up properly again.

I can't argue but I can't imagine moisture coming from inside the frunk, but I suppose it could happen.

The fuse boxes are not in the trunk. They do not even touch the trunk. A very common misconception. It is impossible for water from the trunk to get in the fuse boxes. They are behind the trunk. With an air space all the way around open to the elements.
