• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A little 20/21 RT handlebar trivia

For the taller riders among you, below is the difference I now see after installing Helibars today.
I have been running with the stock RT bars and Lamont’s 1.5” risers, with the bars as upright as possible….This difference is with the Helibars also as upright as possible and the grips rotated as far forward as allowed on the Helibars.

Bar end centre to floorboard
Stock + 1.5” riser = 870mm - 34.25”
Helibars = 915mm - 36”

Bar end centre to mirror glass
Stock + riser = 370mm - 14”
Helibars = 310mm - 12”

This is very, very comfortable for my 6’7” frame. Now to work on legroom :thumbup:

I’ll post a photo shortly…..the one I took was too big…

The Heli-bars were the EXCELLENT answer to my short arm/torso reach..SO customizable. Pricey but worth not having to order and try this, that, and the other, then not be satisfied with it..

What do the Heli bars cost, and what should I estimate as the cost for the dealer to install them for me? Thanks.

Pricing is on the site below, Vito. They are not cheap, but they are superbly made. I had an extra $140aud for shipping to Aus, and they are still well worth it for me.:thumbup:

No real need to get your dealer involved if you are a little bit handy with tools. The instructions, with photos, and the install videos are excellent. I would not have a clue how much a dealer would charge to do it……maybe someone else may know.

We installed them ourselves. Instructions and video were good but were made for a different year model although the instructions worked except for one step for the 2021.

On the RTL 2021 there is a wire pack all tied up that at first does not allow for enough length for the bars. We got to that wire bundle, clipped the wire that had it all tied up, pulled gently on the bundle and then had plenty of length to set the Heli-Bars.

Then the experimenting begins….set what feels right, go for a ride, come back, tweek it, go for a ride, come back, tweek it….then finally…the “ah, just right” factor hits… LOL!

That extra step is now included in the instructions, Pooch…..although I managed to get it out without cutting it (good luck, not good management) :rolleyes:

Pooch…..p.s. did you have trouble getting the 2 black bar end caps into the bars? They just will not go for me….

No… no problem. You might contact Heli-bars and discuss it with them. Maybe the wrong bike model caps were placed in the kit you received.

Yeah, good idea. Thanks Pooch. I got one in with a bit of light persuasion (hammer tapping), but couldn’t get the other one in. I gave it a light tap, and it shot across the floor and under a full cupboard in the garage, where it is im-bloody-possible to reach…….OF COURSE :roflblack:
