• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

will the se5 upshift by itself? or do you always have to push the button?

Is there any X-tra maintenence involved with this Model?

I test drove a manual today and almost pulled the trigger but I am seriously thinking about the se5 (Dealer didnt have one:sour:)

Also what is the price for this model (I know its more but how much?)

Thanks in advance

i test drove one and they are cool ... you do have to upshift manually ... about 2500 to 3500 rpms you can also manually down shift but you dont have to the bike will do it on it's own ....
i think there is a 1200$ difference in price but i think it's worht it i have a standard and just ordered a second one for my better half ... that is an se5 ...
i'm pissed they didnt offer it when i bought mine ....

I have an SE5 and love it. You do have to upshift preferably 3500 RPMS or more (it auto downshifts at 2450 RPMS) There isn't any extra maintance involved but there are added parts for the transmision. Dealer told me there is a hydrolic atuator that is used to shift the gears.

I just had my first service done this week and it ran $208 at my dealer. I'm very happy with it. Shifts smooth at all RPMS 3500 and above. I haven't had any problems with it in the 880 miles I have put on it.

Never rode a SM5 so can not compair the 2 but i have been very happy with my SE5.

thanks All!

I did find an SE5 this afternoon and test rode it! :2thumbs:

Super Freaking Cool! the manual now is out of the question.
Once I sell a few toys she will be in my garage!!

The Spyder has assimilated another one.

 Here's to the toy sale going well. :spyder:

It's too bad that BRP did not use a CVT transmission that is either fully automatic or electric shift ala Suzuki Burgman scooters. Those transmissions are bulletproof and fun. Usually I just twist and go.

I have test rode the SE5 a couple of times and love it. It was even better the second time.
Just a note on the shifting. I found it very comfortable shifting between 4000 & 6000 RPM. 2500 - 3500 was lugging the motor. I think when I am riding my own SP','der, it will be closer to the 7,000 - 8,000rpm range. The redline on this baby is 10K. I always maintain that if it weren't designed to rev hig, the red-line would be somewhere down around 5,000 rpm.

The SE% option is $1,500 in Canada, not sure about the good ol' US of A
