• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A couple of days at the Tail of the Dragon

I cannot think of a better spot to clear one's head than that!!! Enjoy, you lucky dog!

Especially on Wednesday evening. I left at 5 in the morning and after driving/taking breaks almost 9 hours I went over to the Dragon and got several runs in. Nobody was there due to the storms the day before.

There was still debris and mud in the turns on the road and all of the pull-offs were filled with branches and leaves. But amazingly, by the time I got back over there on Thursday afternoon, most everything was cleaned up.

Those road crews there are amazing.

I was hoping to hit that on this trip, but the timing didn't work out. If nothing else, it gives me an excuse to come back.

I think I am heading back in October for some midweek riding and avoiding the crowds. I have fallen in love with the whole area and I keep trying to talk my wife into moving down there. Unfortunately, she is still working and not retired yet, so that's a no go for now.

I think this community needs to have an outing there. I've never been to that area but from the photos I've seen it looks absolutely beautiful.

There are lots of different clubs that do their rides there. Motorcycle, Mustang, Camaro, Convertible...
The middle of the week or a non weekend in October is best. Because of the leaves turning color, things will be busy. There's a lot of good sightseeing and riding all over area.

I've been there 15 times, on either 2 or 3 wheels, I've been passed by crotch rockets or fast sport bikes, AND I ride aggressively. I've never seen a wreck or anything negative. It's promoted more from the NC side than the TN side, with only about 1 mile in NC. After all, it's America's #1 Motorcycle destination. It's fun to get those professional pics of the Spyder. Also fun to just look at about 4 main different professional photos websites and see what goes down the road.

I could be up there in mid October, as the wife has already mentioned it.

It sounds like a blast. October weather would give me a chance to ride my Spyder for more than 30 minutes at a time. I see there are tons of lodging up there too. Google maps shows it as a good 15 hours, but is likely take time to go see Ron, and some other folks I know out there.
