• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A Bit Warm

Driving home today down I-8 at 114...degrees, that is, running 5 bars. Stopped in the shadows for some much needed GatorAid, started the RT up again, right into Over Heat Limp Mode. Turned the RT off and on 5 times, cleared the Nanny and off I went...doing five bars.

Glad you got the :spyder2: restarted. That 114 degrees sounds really, really, hot. Was in Vegas once, when it was 112--and that was plenty hot for me.

We are enjoying temps in the mid to high 60's in the Anchorage area, this week.

Glad I am not in the lower 48 this week. Take care.

I had 117' the other day on the wifes spyder and the analog temp was up towards the top of the limit. So if the spyder goes into overheat limp mode am I suppose to let it cool and cycle the key 5 times to reset the computer? Its only going to get hotter over the next month here in AZ and would like to be prepared for this.

Engines typically heat up quite a bit after shutdown. I have heard of it being called heatsoak, where the head/block retain the heat until it can cool normally. Why you are getting the error/limp I have no clue to. Its hot here in Fl and I have not had this happen. I am running Water-wetter in the cooling system and it seems to help some. Might be worth a try where you are too.

When I turned it back on, it was reading only 6 bars. Still had a few bars to go to be maxed out. I don't understand this either. Thankfully the Nanny cleared and I was able to proceed. When I stopped I did when it was five bars...stopped in the shade. As was stated, it may have been the heat of the engine tipping the Nanny, as the air around me was still pretty hot when I stopped. So, hopefully this incident sharing can help someone else if it happens to them.

Wow, that's hot, Dudley. We had an official high of 110 degrees a few weeks ago. Been running 101 to 104 most days. I haven't ridden much lately for various reasons but no trouble when I did, although my RT will sometimes run 5 bars when the ambient temp is this hot. Good to know about turning the key off 5 times, though. I didn't know that.
