A-Arm Covers

Hi folks,

On my '08 GS, the 'plastic' right side lower A-Arm cover has a crack. This photo does not show the crack, it does show the area on the cover that I have a question about:




I recently obtained a new, replacement cover and it is different. My dealer says that the new one, while changed, is the replacement part. Here it is:




As you can see, the new part has an indentation area with two very small holes in there.

Can anyone tell me what goes into this indentation area, if anything? I am thinking maybe some type of logo or whatever.

PS) The new parts fits just fine; and I have ordered a new part for the other side so that they match.

As you know Jerry, mine is a 2012 and has that indentation and the holes are to drain off standing water. :dontknow: at least on the RS there is nothing else. Maybe on some other model they have something that goes there and the holes are for the mounting screws...
