• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

998 spyder dipstck o ring in resivour

Ignore it - write that one off, leave it there, & go buy a new 'O' ring from your local motor parts store. :dontknow:

It's not likely to hurt anything lying around in the bottom of the oil header tank, & it's the wrong shape to end up getting sucked out of it too. The next time you need to remove the oil header tank for a service or any other reason, once it's off & empty, turn it upside down & shake until the 'O' ring comes out.

Curious. ....

Easiest is to remove the screen (large brass nut bottom rear of tank where the hose hooks up) get a worm drive hose clamp cause the okiter clamp is not reusable. Clean the screen while your there then snag the o ring. If you never cleaned the screen good reason to do it. But as mentioned you can get another one and forgrt it.

I've been there - done that ( the cleaning ). I don't think you could get that " O " ring thru that hole without seriously damaging or breaking it...... and leaving it in tank isn't a problem ....IMHO ....Mike

:hun:HOW?!:dontknow: Mine sticks to top of dipstick EVERY time & I have to move it below threads before I put back in but it is always on the stick. I've read of people having them split & worried about doing myself but never one falling in nojoke

Gene,

Do you happen to recall the size of that big nut on the tank????

When you get a new O ring put a couple drops of super glue on it to secure it to the dipstick before you screw it in. I did that to mine a couple years ago and it stays put. Go easy on the super glue or you might not get your dipstick back out in one piece.
