• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 94 year youngster on Spyder RT

Shortly after buying my Spyder RS my almost 90yo dad came to visit. I so wanted to take him for a ride; he used to ride a Norton back in the day but quit to start a family. But since he has recently developed slight vertigo at times and problems hanging on, I thought the better of it since the RS did not have a backrest or arm rests. I suppose it was selfish of me to want to relive his days in the wind together. I regret not taking up motorcycles in my youth so we could ride. This thread is bittersweet. Those of you who are able to share your passion with an elderly parent, do eeet!

That is so cool. Wish my dad was still around to take for a ride, he was a great guy. The older I got the smarter he got. Ain't it funny how that happens?:roflblack:

Today I had the privilege of taking my 94 year old uncle for a ryde. It was a little chilly in Naples. NY today so I just went for a quick ryde. As we turned around he leaned over my shoulder and said take the next right , basically taking us the long way home!View attachment 56033Here is after we got back with his wife on the back. The next Spyder owners?

I'm not too far from Naples--get places to ride!

good times

I am one who is jealous of you guys who still have your parents. This is great to have them with you and still be able to experience something like taking them for a ride. I know without a doubt my dad would have jumped on and went for a ride, it would have been hard to get him off the spyder. You know what? A lot of us still have older family that would love to do this, Visit them and make their day brighter and exciting!
