• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I didn't want to hijack Roger's thread. His VW reminded me of my son's.

Maybe I'm an old hippie

:DO
nice.

When Glo & I were dating I had a VW bug just that color.
I know that on a computer screen the color of the '73 and my '57 look similar but the '57 is a lot more green than the (I think) Diamond Blue.

I have fond memories of that car too.

The VW experience is so different from the Spyder experience.
Everyone either owned or knows someone who owned a Bug.

You can't say that about Spyders.

BTW, I'm looking for another VW project so if anyone knows of a bus, Bug, Type 3 or Thing that needs a home let me know.

I took one of those ubiquitous internet tests. It said I was an old hippie and drove a VW bus.

VW's have also played a happy time in my life. I have owned three of them.

Bought a new 1968 Beetle--Navy Blue with white leatherette interior. I believe that had a price tag of $1,699 at the time.

Also bought a new 1974 Van--Orange and crème.

My favorite though, was a used 1962 Van--turquoise and white. It would barely make 55 mph on the highway, but was trusty and fun to drive.
