IF you have one, where did you buy it?? My dealers all want 100% full smack for it & the hitch, plus $200 to install the hitch.

Shipping from the East Coast is roughly $600, so pricing around $3K would be a savings....

I bought mine on Ebay from a dealer in New York for $1,000 under list. I also bought my hitch on ebay from another dealer also for considerably less than list. I did pay 2 hours labor to have the hitch installed.

I didn't buy the trailer with the RT, but now am reconsidering looking into the market. Does anyone know if the 622 trailer can be pulled behind a car with full function?

RT Trailer hitch

Here is where you can get the trailer hitch for the RT. With shipping, it is a few pennies under $400. I am not a mechanic by any means and I was able to install my hitch in 3 hours. Only had 1 screw left over, I know where it goes, just can't get it to catch.

I asked the question about pulling it behind a car as a way to transport it long distance. I pull the RT on a trailer behind my motor home. The car driven by better half would pull the 622. Should have bought a bigger trailer for the RT to begin with.

I too made the decision not to purchase a trailer when I bought my RT-S. Now that my wife, Cindy, and I have ridden a bit, I think I made a mistake. I will soon be in the market for buying one.

I'm social security age so I guess I'll wait till I get the $250.00 check that our president has so graciously decided to recommend for us. :roflblack: before purchasing.

It does fit perfectly in the bed of a pickup.

Thanks! I'll snap up the hitch today. I noted the connector is under the left bag - is the harness connector easy to find? BTW, did is come with the trailer's plug too - just in case a less expensive trailer caught the eye??

I would also be leery of pulling it behind a car. This is merely due to the fact that it is so low and narrow that it will not be able to be seen well. I have pulled my narrow, motorcycle trailers with a car or truck, and I worry constantly. No different than the Spyder on a trailer behind your RV, I suppose. I would rig a bicycle flag to the trailer tongue, so I could see it in my rearview mirror. Remember that the BRP trailer is short, and will be a challenge to back up, due to the shortness and visibility issues.

It will be no big problem to tow with the car if you have separate turn signals and brake lights on the car. If you do no, you may be forced to use the amber turn signals as brake lights. This is legal in Michigan, but may not be elsewhere. I have never been able to get a 2-3 converter to work with today's electrical systems and the low lighting loads on my trailers.

Even with separate turn signals, you will need to rig a wiring adapter. The first issue is the odd connector on the RT-622. You will want this for a Spyder RT. If it were me, I'd cut the RT-622 trailer tongue harness, and splice in a connector that will fit your car. This will leave the existing connector and a short piece of cable, as an adapter to the Spyder, yet disconnect and allow easy connection to the car. Be aware that the Spyder uses two brake light circuits. You will need to select one for use with the car, but they both must be wired, for use with the Spyder. If you do not use the backup light wire in the existing harness, you should be able to use a 6-wire connector. I prefer the rectangular ones.

Another plus for Oregon - the 622 wouldn't block the car's taillights, so no other lights are required, and the 622 is not licensed here - only FSC trailers require a license…. probably only a matter of time before some bureaucrat discovers the revenue potential tho…. :roflblack:

I saw a plug and play wiring adapter at a meet a few weeks ago. Do not know the manufacturer but a flat four to BRP style adapter is out there.

The Spyder round plug is not like any standard trailer plug.
