• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

600 Miles service?

I think that is the high side of average for the first service. Get a more detailed quote of exactly what the $350 covers. Many dealers oil change only price can run just over $100 in parts and oil and SE5s may cost more than SM5s. :dontknow: They are supposed to do a lot of additional checks beyond the basic oil change on that 600 mile service . If they are including a shim check in that price, they may be able to eliminate that and lower the price. I think BRP has changed the mileage that they recommend the shim check. Another option is to call other dealers to see what they will quote you.

ya i only got 2 dealers on long island and they both round the same...so beat....just pay so much for the machine and 600 miles later (2 weeks) they get you for more $

It sure takes a chunk out of your wallet doesn't it?

Yep, that has been my experience as well. The price is ridiculous in my opinion. The 6000 wasn't pretty either. But I can say, when I picked up mine after the 6000 check-up. It sure ran great. No doubt about that. I hope things do not keep going up this much as the Spyder gets a few more miles on it. I would hate to part with it because of maintenance prices. Where's a money tree when you need one?

I paid $155 for my 600 mile and that was with them adjusting the shocks for me while they had it up on the lift and looking at some other things. I thought that was average if not a fair price.

Ask them to detail what you are getting for that $350.

These prices for the major services (600 mile, 12000 mile, etc.) are one of the reasons to get the BRP Best Plus warranty. That warranty will cover one service per each year of extended warranty purchased (one year - one service, three years - three services) minus a $50 deductible. If I would have had to pay $300 + for either of those two services and my next major service, that would basically pay the cost of buying the Best Plus warranty.

Tip: If you have the Best Plus warranty, don't use the service coverage on the average oil change. Save the covered service for the major services that cost more money. No use burning up a covered service on an oil and filter then have to pay cash for an oil change, shim check / adjust, belt tension check / adjust, rear bearing service, etc.
