• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

6.2 Earthquake for Alaska this AM

Another quake last night at about 8:00 PM.

This shaker was only a 5.0. We were in the car at the time, but noticed a feeling like I was going over "bumps" in the road.

No reports of damage or things turned topsy turvy this time.

The experts say this quake was not related to the 6.2 (aftershock) and this one was 45 miles or so S of the epicenter and 32 miles deep as opposed to 60 miles deep on the 6.2.

I also read the Mammoth lake article this AM.

Alaska has always been very active. We have 200 or more quakes daily, most small and not noticeable. Anything over 5.0 gets some attention though.

The good side, the "experts" say an occasional 5.0 or so is good. They help to relieve the pressure on the tectonic plates. What we don't need is "the big one." :yikes:

Thanks for both your interest, and your concern. :2thumbs:
