There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 50 State Legal

Is the Spyder 50 state legal? I know cycles are not so if you purchase out of state "California" they must have 7500 miles on them before you can register them. Or they must be 50 state legal which then would mean legal in California.

Yes, Spyders are legal in California. Also you don't need an M1 license either.

Thanks for response, but..

I was looking for if a spyder was purchased new lets say Nevada or another state besides california. And brought back to california would a person be able to register it without having 7500 miles on it? Current DMV policy is must be a 50 legal or legal in california state for motorcycles. If not then you must get one with 7500 miles plus on it to register it. It is then considered a used device other wise you can't register it.

Hmmm. Is that an California Smog thing? If so, the CAT in the Spyder is the same one sold in all 50 states.

Spyders are perfectly legal in all 50 states. A few states allow use without having a full MC license. There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of Spyders in California.

Google 'West Coast Spyders' and you'll find a site with them on it--- ask them what you're specifically talking about. Every Spyder sold in North America is perfectly legal in all 50 states - including CA.

Yes, it is a smog thing. Sounds ridiculous on the surface doesn't it? I met a couple in Big Bear while on a run with my cycle club. They lived in Lake Arrowhead about 30 miles down the road. They once bought a bike in NM and tried to register it here and were told the bad news. They had to take it back. They got their money back MINUS the sales tax.

More S+$%$ California rules... Wonder what Cal DMV would do with an out of state Zero??? I'd love t hear that story..

The Spyder is 50 state legal - you can sell your California bike to any of the 50 states... in addition tho - you must charge California sales tax, even if the vehicle goes to a state that doesn't have a sales tax (like Oregon).... voice of experience here.... that requirement holds, even if you drive it there, then sell it, as long as YOU are a California resident...

IS there a benefit to being a California resident??

I have yet to hear of one....

Uh, year round ryding? Every state has its own peaks and valleys. There is no Shangrila on this planet. And there are lawyers and politicians in every state.
