Inthe years I traveled between duty stations,a little item that was really useful was Spacebags.They are the ones that you can put clothes in for storage and you use a vaccuum to suck the air out of to flattten them out for compact storage.They come in different sizes and they can hold alot of clothes for the road and protect them too(waterproof).Every hotel/motel has a vaccuum cleaner that you can borrow to repack and deflate the bags for the continuing trip.They kept my checkin uniforms pressed and neat.Carried at least a weeks worth of clothes in 3 bags and flattened to the size of apair of rolled up socks,packed in one saddle bag.Highly recommend them!:2thumbs:

Some people use "Zip Lock bags the same way. A "day Pack" could consist of a set of underwear and socks, then put the used ones back in the same bag.

Another thought. Many motels have a self use laundry, if you ask.

If you are going to be in the same location for several days, check out long term motels. Many have kitches, refrigators and so on. I paid for a week, spent six days and turned it back in at a Rally in MS. Saved a $150 over the people who stayed in normal motels.

We have done that and plan on doing it for our trip to LA. We use gallon size zip lock back, you pack stuff in and squeeze the air out and you can get a heck of a lot of stuff packed nice and easy.

My girlfriend and I did a long trip of 634 miles in one day last year for the 4th of july. 2 things Im glad I packed were:

• Few cans of Red Bull

Correct- and some have found out that BEST stands for:

Suddenly
Trounced


Read a few stories where BEST tried to send the person to the nearest MOPED dealer. BEST is a 3rd party that knows little about the Spyder - just another item they cover. Better have a list of dealers with you at all times!

....another tip is once you think all the air is gone, use a plain soda straw to draw out the remaining air. Slick!! Works good at home as well when putting leftovers in bags.:f_spider:

You know, hotrodd, that is a really good idea. It sounds a bit unorthodox but I can see how it could work.

This seems to mean that if Lamonster and Ron get separated from you on the trip to LA, they can just look for the trail of discarded clothing alongside the road. BTW, it is considered to be a mortal sin to throw away certain special T-shirts, even if they are greasy, ragged, and full of holes...at least that's what I tell Nancy.
