• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

@46K

I haven't heard of any breaking on a 2013 but it still a little early for that. If you are concerned I would suggest that you not ride with the windshield all the way down. Keep it up about 1/4" and that should keep the parts from rubbing against each other.

Is that why they are breaking? I'm on my second one....:helpsmilie:

Possible Cause of Windshield Arm Breaking

The theory is that with the arm resting fully down on the stop, long term vibration eventually caused it to crack. Make yourself a rubber bumper and glue it on the underside of the arm to prevent it from resting on the stop. Can't hurt.

That's the theory but mine just broke last week after 30K miles and I almost never have the shield all the way down or all the way up. It broke near the front, not near the spot where it rests on the stops if all the way down. I was 1200 miles from home. See the details here in post #143: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...heck-this-on-your-machine&p=707990#post707990

Had to ride 200 miles with it broken to get it repaired in Nashville but all worked out well. But the fact that these struts are breaking is totally unacceptable on the part of BRP. And they keep supplying the same struts with the same part number.

fixed for now

I'm calling this fixed until I either trade it or pony up the $$$ for the new part. DSCF1596.jpgDSCF1598.jpgDSCF1600.jpg now for some gas and away we go!

Hi,

When i was testing the RT 2014 i notice no side to side movement on the windshield , it look like they keep the same dogbone , and it really rock solid test riding it on back road campagne.
