I was in the area, and just had to go see him. It took me hours out of my way, but I am glad I went for my own reasons...

My husband has a Jethro Tull DVD, "Live at The Isle of Wight" where Ian Anderson discusses his personal interactions with Jimi at the festival. That festival ended three days before his untimely passing. Truly a sad day as he was both: an airborne ranger, and a smoke jumper before he embarked on a music career. Of course my husband loves to tell this story as he would have loved to see a band with the two of them in it.
