There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 40mph Looping.....elkas/swaybar

Curious thoughts on accelerated cornering.......There are loop ramps in my town that I've been practicing on everyday. They loop hard like a figure 8 diagram on and off highways. I've put a lot of time into seeing how fast I can loop the spyder without slipping. With a hard lean into the turn, various angle approaches, and many tries....the most I can get before the wheels slip off course is 35mph.

My question is, if I were to add a sway bar and elkas, and go and practice again for max speed in turn, could I acheive 40mph looping???

Yes, I just did 40 yesterday on the looping highway ramps with the Evo Sway Bar and Stage 1+ Elka,s.
Just attaining the right angle and lean is key for me.

I'm thinking 40+ is very possible...I have the RS with Elka's and sway bar and I've been hitting the curves pretty hard now that I've become used to the difference in handling.

Love my Fox

I Love my Fox shocks and welcome anyone who thinks they can outperform them to the mountains of NC.

Don't believe the hype. Maybe I'd you had stock RS shocks and had to decide between Fox and Elka, but no need to change out your Fox.

Wow....thanks Spyer777 for your input on that. This is the first I heard a spyderlover say that about the Fox. (This forum is Elka central)

Actually, there is another member. daveinva installed the Fox on his RS and is quite happy with them.

I've read posts on here that the fox are significantly inferior to the elkas and worth the trade up. :dontknow:

In the outside world Fox Shocks are a major brand and very well received. I don't know if the particular Fox shocks used on the RS-S are as good or better than Elkas but I would think they're close enough. You already own high performance shocks, you'd be much better off spending your money on a BajaRon sway bar for a worthwhile upgrade. When I upgraded my sway bar it made a significant difference.

I have a sway bar, I have burned my stock 09 rs shocks at 12k, I had penskes on the front until I got stage 5 clinger elkas on the front and a penske rear shock as well.

In exhaustive testing that most would call excessive or reckless I can tell you that me in my physical situation now (I can only feel to just below my chest t5ish) that you should be able to exit a cloverleaf on a spyder at 60mph the apex if you hit it right and depending on if its up or down you should be at 45mph-55 if you can set it up right your tires will be screaming and you have to play the nanny, where you go in too hot and let the tires slow you down and you reduce from the inside to the outside of the loop riding the edge of where the nanny screws you in the corners.

As a full human you should be able to do better than I do, stock shocks, FOX or not are build with one major idea in mind, cost. So they are NOT going to be as good in the area of pushing the limits of the machine, now are they going to be better for your average rider for average riding absolutely, are they better than the old OEM's without a doubt but are the better than penskes, race techs or elkas? Absolutely not.

IF you could can ride someone elses spyder with elkas or a sway bar, ron sway bars are needed anyway so I would start there otherwise I have a set of front penske shocks semi race weight setup at about 190 for sale.
