• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

And if its true that BRP employees read these post. Please help me. I just want to ride. If the dealer is incapable of correcting this issue please fly someone to the dealership. Just let me know that you care and your doing something. Not one call to me has anyone made. NOT ONE! I have had to call every time I wanted info.

Just got off the phone with dealer. They had someone ride it that weighed around "normal" weight. He said it was still twitchy and darting. NOW HERE IS WHY I AM NOT HAPPY!!!!!! They told me that they spoke to BRP right after the test ride and he was told that BRP R&D was going to setup a spyder for MY weight TOMORROW and set the tow and alignment.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT IF THE BIKE SUCKS WITH A NORMAL SIZED RIDER ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no need to do this. It is just a way to waste another day! The dealer tech told them it was bad with him on it.

This is why I have all but given up.

I'm sorry Bro but it sounds to me like they have gone above and beyond to try and see what the problem is. Without them being there at the dealership there's no way to simulate your situation. I know the alinement procedure is very detailed now and if they missed a step you could still have an alinement issue. And I'm sure they're not doing this to "waste another day".

By the way I'm about 100 lbs lighter than you and when I sit on the Spyder it goes down in the front .250", that's on a ST and it doesn't have air in the rear but there's not much movement.

hope you get it resolved

hope you do get it resolved or your money Back as I know the headaches BRP is to deal with as I emailed them many times also it seems they take care of certain members and ignore the others and this is a piss poor way to have a company think the negative image wont hurt them with thousands and thousands of complaints on this site alone not counting the ones hidden from us but good luck I would go back to my GOLDWING in a second if it could be done but the person who got my WING ended up with the best part of the sale Good Luck broken hearted for you also Rich P.S. But the dealership has a lot to do with solveing the problem or not also OK

As Lamont, and others have pointed out (mostly in other threads) ... some 2013's suffered from alignment issues AND ball joint problems and some only the ball joint problems. Sounds to me as if your ryde was one of the few that suffered from BOTH issues (unfortunately ... but, sometimes :cus: happens and it just royally p**ses you off). Also, as Scotty (I think) pointed out very early in the "twitching" threads, this is an indication that toe in is off; Lamont, just above has noted that the new alignment procedure is complicated. So, if your dealer has not actually followed all the protocols for alignment and replacement of the ball joints, then IMHO your real difficulty is with the dealer.

The reason I say "take heart" .... according to your recent post "BRP R&D was going to setup a spyder for MY weight TOMORROW and set the tow and alignment" -- that sounds as if you will get a machine that is CORRECT IN EVERY WAY (you know it will have good ball joints and proper alignment). So .... I know you are frustrated beyond words ...but, please don't give up just yet. Best Regards .... Ann

It appears you have there attention Now that the Tech ALSO rode it and reported the problems Soo give them a little more time???

My 09 went into the shop shortly after a got it for 42 Days before they brought it back??? I had the Lemon Law paperwork ALL filled out but it was resolved and been Perfect ever since!!!!!!
Legal action should be the Last resort!nojoke

As of early next week, we ( Elka) will have a 2013 Spyder in the shop for R&D and will have a solution available shortly. I will keep you all posted with new developments, including photo's of the R&D process for those who may be interested in seeing how we go about it.
Photos would be great!:ohyea:I am very interested in the process! Thanks.

This is a good thing! :ohyea:

It's been reported in here by the folks who know, that the new suspension is pretty sensitive to ride height settings.
Once they put the correct load on the bike to set it up for you; BEER and SKITTLES, BABY!:yes::yes::yes: :2thumbs:

This is the 2nd set of ball joints they have installed and if the dealer is telling the truth this will be the third time they have aligned it. It getting hard to give them more time.

Rab,
Lamont has a thread going about the new alignment procedures for the 2013 models; "Spyder Shoptalk"
It's a good read that explains a lot of what you've been up against!

Maybe, I hope it all resolves this week. Thanks

See Lomonsters thread on new alignment procedure for the 2013's

And make the dealer prove to you that they followed it! good luck

Anyone notice it's the same dealers that keep coming up in the BRP sucks threads?

I have. And my next question is.... How do I get my bike sent to another dealer with all that has happened. Do I tell BRP that I want to pick it up and carry it to another dealer.. Or am i completely in it till the end with Big Number 1.

Im so sorry you going through this. we have transferred dealerships before when one could not solve issue to our satisfaction.

if you want it transferred to another dealer - my suggestion is to make contact with the dealer you'd like to bring it to and make sure they have tech who can work on it, and pay to have towed over, BRP should have the issue on file so the new dealership can move forward with trying to address the issue. That way at least you know if two dealerships can't fix you've got major issues.

Switching dealers midway through this...ordeal... might work against you.
What is it that they say about too many cooks and that broth?
I'd make sure that your dealer follows the procedures as laid out by BRP right down to the letter!
Holding their feet to the fire isn't going to make them like you any better; but once they straighten it all out; ou can make a decision about changing...

(IMHO)

Yea , im going by the dealer tomorrow. I have a meeting in Birmingham anyway. Maybe something will change for the better by the time I arrive.

Have they aligned it by the new procedures, using the new specs, and using the required alignment struts? Just asking because some dealers failed to do so, thinking it was the same as the earlier version.

Yes three times. Not only did they do it three times, The dealer said BRP even sent a video for the tech to watch.

Hey Rad, I hope the dealer gets this worked out for you. I do think that it is the dealer, not brp.

i am a big guy (around 315lbs) and my 2010 rt with the 2010 shocks was very ill handling. I got a set of 2011 shocks, which made a big difference, but the rt would still dart around when it was windy or when I was close to an 18 wheeler. And to top it off, we ride 2 up most of the time.

At Christmas, I got a set of stage 1+r elkas, and man they made a huge difference. My next item will be a sway bar from baha Ron. I would recommend the elkas and the sway bar, but only after they get the alignment fixed.

if it were me, I would call the other dealer and make arrangements to move the spyder by Friday. It sounds like they have had it a month, and that should have been enough time.

best of luck to you.
