There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 30t sprocket

Mel's made some cool spyder accessories, but the 30 tooth sprock looks to be a failure. The steel BRP ones are wearing out as it is, Mel's was billet aluminum. One of the last members on here to run one recently failed. It was mentioned Mel's was looking into a stainless steel version, but the cost was much higher and he closed before it ever happened.

I purchased one from mels and I do not have any trouble with it. :clap:I have over 4000 miles and it looks new. I think the problem other riders have is there right wrist. :gaah:I wish there was a bigger one to bring down the rpm's a little.

i have to wonder if the failures of these and the stock sprockets was the way to high belt tension and or the bolts coming loose i want to try one with the smooth spyder roller and much reduced tension the stock 28t is way to low geared[ I have both] the 30t makes for a much more relaxed spyder is there any one working on a steel version

Wasn't 30 the largest they made, or was it 31? Glad yours it lasting Woodchuck, so far you may be the only one. I think Freddy had more miles on his Mel's pulley than you so keep an eye on it and continue to handle with kids gloves.

I don't think there is, it was mentioned in another post that Mel's was looking at a stainless steel version. I am suprised no other front or rear pulleys on the market for the spyder, even if it were just for custom looks. There are several aftermarket rims and pulleys out there for 2 wheelers, I don't think anyone but Mel's did the spyder. I was really interested too, I am use to my sport V-twins running about 1000 RPM's lower in 5th gear(6th actually). Evoluzione makes some spyder accessories, they have reduced their catalog. I don't see the 6th gear kit, the full performance air/fuel kit or the 145hp piston kit anymore. Their 6th gear kit lowered RPMs, but got rid of reverse, a trade off.

Thanks. I will have to keep watching it. That is whenever I start riding again. I had my left knee replaced for the second time in August of last year.. Now this knee is giving me trouble. I haven't rode since the end of June. Hopefully around the end of July I will have to give it another try.

Hmmm, that reminds me. I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary.

Paper weight

For the sake of clarity, that 30T pulley of mine pictured above was still in excellent shape after about 13,000km, before I took it on a 12,000km trip over 4 weeks. The right hand had nothing to do with the wear, just sustained hiway speeds - aluminium is just not up to the task. As far as retaining bolt torque goes, I've comments on that with pics in the other 30T thread. If it's torqued up, there is no problem - even with the alu pulley - as there is no relative movement between shaft and hub, being the issue BRP was addressing in it's service bulletin about retorque of that bolt.

Wow-- look at the wear on those teeth from what they were originally on the righthand side... looks like it would start cutting into your belt as the teeth get sharper.

Bad bad bad idea those sprockets are!
