Do I have to use a stealership for the scheduled checkups? also, approximately what does it cost and what is done?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
3000 mile F3 check up

Look on page 89 of your operator's guide for what is included in the 3,000 mile check. After the oil and filter change all the other items are in the inspect/check category except for removing the front grill and clearing debris from the radiator air duct (have no idea how that's done). Cost will vary depending on dealer labor rate.

I always recomment the first service be done by your dealer. This is to check everything is working as it should and if you have any issues they can not say they would have caught it at the first service. After that you can do your own...I recently checked my RS on buds and it shows that it has not been service in the last 637 hours of operation. :roflblack: wonder what the oil would look like...:roflblack::roflblack:

IMO--it is a good idea to have the dealer do that first service on your :spyder2:. If they do well, then they will look for things that may need adjusting or to put back into spec.
A lot of people do their own service after that point. One good thing, after your 3000 miler, the next oil change/filter is not needed until 12,500 miles. (9500 miles later)--if you follow the BRP recommendations.
Cost for the 3000 miler seems to be $300 - $350. Have seen as low as $175 and as high as $487 posted here.
