• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Hopefully. Tried to post this before, but I guess that my soundtrack wasn't approved. Anyway, here is about 5 minutes of footage from my ride on The Snake (421 North) yesterday.

Nick...

Black fenders? What did you do?

Love the snake. First ride on it was last year during Lamont's rally/BBQ.

finally got it to play

Great ryde enjoyed it even from my arm chair. Was out on a similar ryde with the wife but no cam to share..!! Ryde on :ohyea:

Looks like a fun road. I see you had a helmet mount camera. Which camera do you use?

GoPro Hero... love it.

Hey Dan!

Painted the whole Spyder (except the frunk and the gloss black panels) with the black bedliner back in the spring. Definitely a different look. Melikes.

What pipes on your Spyder??

:dontknow::hun::ohyea:

HMF - best "less expensive" investment that I've made. Went from stock to Hindle to Schultze's Attitude. Like this better than all. Throaty, but not obnoxious.

That was a FUN ride! :ohyea: Mind if I ask a "new-b" question? On a ride like that, are you paddling down thru the gears as you decelerate or do you just brake down, let the machine take care of gears and accelerate UP thru the gears? I can't wait to practice on my own!

Thanks - it was! I have an '08 SM5, so I have to do all of the gear changing myself. Most of the time I'm downshifting when the curves demand, but I do have to find my way to brake pedal occasionally on this road.

Thats Cool

:doorag: Great Job! I had a home in Hayesville N.C. For many years and miss those winding roads.

Where about is this snake? Will be in the area of the tail of the dragon mid summer. Anywhere close?:banghead:

Thanx for the reply. The reason I ask is that I have been reading about Spyders NOT having much engine breaking. On my test ride, I found down shifting with the SE5 easy and fun. Don't want to abuse the 'chinery, butI enjoy running thru the gears. Anyhow, great ride. Thanx!

Yes, it's not that far. Look it up - 421 North from Mountain City, Tn to Shady Valley, Tn. Of course, there are other roads that intersect there in Shady Valley that are also referred to as "The Snake"(133, I believe coming out of Damascus, Va), but I think that 421 is definitely the best section.

Thanks for reposting the video. It was definitely worth the wait.

Not a problem - thanks for your patience!
