• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2024+ User Interface - how to pause the music; how to get to the phone menu; and can the touch screen safety lock-out be over-ridden?

After some experience with the new 2024 infotainment system, I am running into a few hiccups that perhaps others have solved or know workarounds.

I have my phone connected via bluetooth and can get it to play music in my headset by pressing the next arrow button on my left handlebar. But there is no way to stop the music other than the pause button on screen which is disabled while moving at any speed. There is no pause or play button on the handlebar controls that I can find. So how are you supposed to pause the music once started if you need to hear something or someone?

This leads to question 2, there seems to be no way to get to the phone call menu from the handle bar controls. Only via touchscreen which again is disabled while moving.

Is there a way to override the touch screen safety and make it work while moving? Or are there button combos that are not documented in the owners manual, which I have indeed read, looking for a way to make this stuff work?!

When you are on the Media screen just hit the OK button to pause the music.
Tried that. The OK button does nothing on the media screen. Have to hit the pause icon in the middle of the touch screen but its only active when sitting still, not while riding. At least I now know how its supposed to work.

What version software are you running. Mine is on 4.1.0

Mine is in the same version and it is a 2024 RTL. Are you pressing it "in" and not up or down while you are moving? I use it all the time when my phone starts to lose a cell and the music gets spotty. I step through screens until I get to Media then just press the OK button in to pause the music and then then step back to Gauges, all while rolling down the road.

I will try it again and be more selective of the action. It would make sense and I was surprised it did not work. I know the button works as I can select icons from the applet popup using it.

Ok, trying again with the pause music, yes the OK button works if you push and hold a second. I was pressing and releasing too fast. A more deliberate press does indeed work.

Still have no way to navigate to the phone page while moving so no way to place a call. Not that big of a deal as I seldom do that, but the UI is definitely lacking. Now if I can just get my Android Auto to work.
