• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2023 RT won’t shift to 1st fm Neutral when warm, intermittently - anyone else?

My new Spyder will shift into First from Neutral when cold or not so warm, but if it’s very hot out it will stay in Neutral. If I shift into Reverse then First, it works, and you can drive all day like that.

Now it did this once a few days ago, and a few times yesterday, as both days were at 30 degrees Celsius or 86 Fahrenheit with high humidity. I let it sit 'til the temperature was in the mid 70s Fahrenheit, then drove it for an hour, got home, and tried shifting into Neutral to First and Reverse and could not make it fail.

Just seeing if anybody has the same problem. Checked oil, full. I’m a mechanic by trade and believe First and Reverse use the same gear plus a Reverse Actuator. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I own a 2015 F3-S and have had my reverse actuator switch replaced twice. Once was under the OEM warranty and the second time was the extended warranty. Your problem sounds familiar.

Yes, but Reverse is not the problem, it’s Neutral to First in hot weather after a good drive. Going to Reverse, I believe, uses First gear with Reverse Actuator; then going to First from Reverse doesn’t make that clunk as the Actuator is released, so when I can’t shift to First from Neutral, I use Reverse to First to get around my problem. My dealer is a bit over 3 hours away. Anyway, thank you for the reply, this could be as simple as a relay. Will check that out in a day or two. Again, thanks.

Are you stepping on the foot brake????

:agree: That could be at least part of your issue?! If you can, it might be worthwhile getting down on the ground & checking out the brake switch itself & all the wiring connections down there, maybe even giving it all a good squirt with a Contact Cleaner spray or similar?? A bit of crud build-up or a poor connection might just mean that anything less than a solid brake application isn't doing the trick? :dontknow:

Sorry I can't offer anything else.... Good Luck.

I second the remark about the loud clunk. When I first heard our RTL shift to reverse I thought the tranny fell out. But it does that every time and doesn't seem to suffer for it.
