• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2023 RT - What do you guys get for miles between Brake Pad Replacements?

Just replaced my brakes on a 2023 RT-S at 17123 miles. Not sure what the typical miles are for this series. My 2015 has 93,000 miles on it and I can look at the milage for each repair such as tires, oil, brakes, and other milages.

This is the first brake job for this one. Fronts were way more worn than rear, which makes sense to me, since they do most of the work..

What do you guys get for miles between brakes.

Only about 13-14k miles. My 2023 RT-L had the first set at 13k miles and I am feeling a warped right front rotor now at 28k miles. Today I shall pull the front tires to look at how much pad is left. I am pretty easy on the brakes so it does not make sense why the short life span of the pads. This pad usage seems to match what my 2020 F3-L was using also.

Brake pad replacement is like tire replacement, excluding the OEM Crapendas, it depends on how you ride. The least expensive initial approach is to call Bajaron and talk to him about EBC fully sintered brake pads. You will learn a lot. Next ask him about EBC rotors. The combination of the two will stop you like the hand of God and will last a lot longer than the OEM pads and rotors.

When I first got my 2017 F3-L, I followed what the dealer told me - do not engine brake let the system do it for you, it knows better. That got me 8K - yes I was shocked too. I started engine breaking and have 25K on them so far. Engine braking (as I learned here) makes a world of difference.

2016 RT-S had it since new. Second set of rear pads at 45,000 miles in late Spring. Never anything done to the front. Personally I find the braking power of my Spyder to be miserable. It's always been underperformed at stopping.

I have a Gold Wing that can stop so hard your eyeballs pop out. But then I've never hit anything with the Spyder, so I guess it's OK, just barely.
