Well, I guess I wasn't the only one! My left mirror mysteriously fell off on my garage last September and I started a thread about it: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums...-left-mirror-fell-off-overnight-in-the-garage
The dealer had a replacement part a couple of months ago but I had already put the Sypder in storage. I'm guessing that part is probably not acceptable. I'll bet that BRP fixed an issue. My guess was that they didn't shoot the plastic mold properly and had some brittle plastic.
I sure hope my '22 doesn't have any serious problems. I can live with a bad mirror. So far the other hasn't fallen off. The recall states that they will replace both sides. I received the letter today.
.....
Have there been problems with the 2022 models? Hope not.
.....
Which models are involved?
2022 Can-Am® Spyder F3 and F3-S vehicles

Well, my left mirror fell off again. It was replaced, along with the right mirror, last year according to the recall. I'm going to call my dealer up again. It suffered the same problem. The mounting post sheared off. I'm guessing the plastic was not properly shot again.
Looks like the recall was updated for the 2023 MY: https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/au/e...s-lenses-may-dislodge-reduced-visibility.html
Hi JonShadow,
I know that the recall is for the 2023 F3 and the F3 S models, I was wondering if any of the 2023 LTD Special Series models will have any recalls on the mirrors?
Deanna
I'm not Jon, but it looks very much like this newly expanded recall is ONLY for the lower spec F3's with the 'outrigger' style mirrors, as they are the only models that are reported as having problems with their mirrors falling off at this stage.![]()
The F3-T's, Ltd's, & Ltd Special Series all have 'Integrated Mirrors' that are a component part of the different 'dash & headlight binnacle' that carries the windscreen, so their mirrors are of a completely different style; most likely come off a different manufacturing production line if not from a different supplier; and (at least so far) haven't had any of the same issues!
So it looks like your F3 Ltd Special Series is good, Deanna!

Lower Spec? :lecturef_smilie: I would argue that the F3 and F3S are not a lower spec, rather a different purposed Spyder! :dontknow: With the same engine, transmission and 90% of the same "other stuff" I would say they are the more sporty version with less weight, better handling for more spirited riding. Fewer features is not always "less". But this is not why I came here to post. lol
I'll only add that the dealer just replaced my mirrors this past weekend under the recall warranty. I don't know what exactly was failing, a plastic part? A metal part? Just the Mirror glass? But in my case, I got two complete mirrors assemblies.
The affected part is the part of the mirror that moves within the housing. The whole stalk will rotate back and forth on a pivot point on the body of the trike, but that's not the failure point. It's just the mirror glass itself. It's only held on by a single plastic post in the center of the mirror. That post breaks easily on the affected (bad) parts. I have had 2 left mirrors break off the assembly so far. The rubber stripping along the back of the mirror glass held the last mirror on long enough for me to catch it before it fell. I'm waiting to see if my right mirror fails now, as they didn't replace that one yet.
My dealer did fill out the paperwork and reported it to BRP as a warranty issue. Hopefully, that's a data point for BRP to consider. The replacement part I originally received last year predated the second recall that happened in 2023. I hope the part I just got is good.
