I hope you have better luck in cold weather than I did. At 50F it was very slow cranking. Took me several tries. Found out not unusual as batt must warm up. Low voltage into the starter regularly will ruin it. No Li for me as a starter.
This ^ is a well known and widely understood concern (altho obviously not as widely as it
could be! :rolleyes ) with Li batteries for auto/motorcycle/truck application that has a simple solution - if it's cold, turn your headlights on for a moment or three BEFORE attempting to start!! :lecturef_smilie:
Easy enough to do on our Spyders, even if you don't need to wait for that bloody Warning message!

It is simple - walk up to your Spyder, key in hand; insert key and turn ignition on, this will auto-magically also turn on the headlights; put on jacket, helmet, gloves etc whilst standing alongside Spyder that's sitting there with its headlights on, warming up the Li battery; swing leg over Spyder, settle into place, put gloved hands on handlebars and then press the Start button!

The Spyder sitting there with the ignition and headlights on for anything more than about 10 seconds is ample warm-up time for the battery, unless maybe it's down into single digit temps (°C anyway - I'm not up for doing the °F conversion this morning; besides, most of the Civilized World understands me without it anyway!

) when it might take as much as 15-20 seconds!

And with that simple practice, you too can experience the many and varied advantages of using a Li battery without any 'cold start' concers about damaging your Li battery!
