2022 model announcement on Wednesday- any rumors or thoughts?

As posted above slight emissions changes for the 900 and the 600 Ryker motors and the rally is no longer ….it is now a called a sport - expect exciting “bold new graphics” as the only changes on the full-size spyder lineup. A little bit of a bummer but we can’t have crazy cool things every year so probably worth the wait.

:bbq: :bbq: Less than 48 hours.

Based on the recent makeover of the 2021 RT line up...I am guessing it may be a new model Ryker. They have discontinued the Ryker Rallye in that line up.

The F3 is also getting a bit "long in the tooth."

A hand brake would be SO appreciated! Surely that would be very do-able…

People have been asking for that 'factory hand-brake' on every model ever since Spyders first hit the streets years(!?!) ago now, and it hasn't happened yet, so wouldn't hold your breath on that one ever happening!! :bdh:

Thinking about it a little, it probably hasn't happened because if BRP did install a handbrake on their machines, they'd further threaten any chance of ever getting Spyders so equipped approved for Ryders with a standard Driver's licence, and back in the early days that was a stated aim - so there are some places/States/jurisdictions that already do permit anyone with just a normal Driver's Licence to operate a Spyder, and I doubt BRP'll ever want to threaten that! :lecturef_smilie:

Besides, as Copperman says, there's a pretty good (albeit 'not cheap' :p ) a/mkt hand-brake available from ISCI; and there's even been a couple of very effective & fairly straight-forward DIY versions shown here on the Forum, at least one of which was arguably at least as good if not actually better than the ISCI offering & certainly cheaper, cos it was made from readily available motorcycle parts & reasonably simple to install as it operated in tandem with but separately from the OE pedal. :ohyea:

So there ARE hand-brake options available; commercial or DIY versions - just not OE Hand-brake options.... those a/mkt versions are your only current choices if you really want/need a hand-brake! And it seems that despite so many years of clamouring for a factory option behind them, BRP is still quite happy to let the a/mkt versions remain the only choices for each individual buyer... :dontknow: .

All I know is I think they should do the announcement and walk around of the Spyder while showing all the new accessories. Then not tell you the accessories don't come on the Spyder and are sold separately....Oh wait to soon S2S preorder folks? :roflblack:

That's one reason i am considering purchasing the F3 S over the F3 model. The backseat is sold separately on the base F3 and is unobtainable.

I've had a handbrake on every Spyder since the first one in 2008.
The 2020 was a little more difficult but still the same components work’s just fine.

I do not know why BRP doesn't like handbrake's. It's a no-brainer to me but I just may be a idiot.

I don't understand this desire for a handbrake, unless the rider has limited motion or strength in the right leg. Do you think it's nostalgia or what?

I'm just curious is all.

I’m not on Facebook and it seems that’s the only way you get to see the new 2022 models. Will anyone be able to post that information on here so us NonFacebookers can see them! Thanks in advance,Spyderlovers always come through!

I'm also a hand brake fan...It has many uses; I like to stand up and stretch at stop lights and the hand brake comes in handy...When rolling the bike around the garage the hand brake is nice...Many times while riding and I need to brake and my feet are planted comfortably I use the hand brake...For me, it's a personal item I like...larryd
