2020RT trailer hitch problem - anyone using an older hitch on a 2020+ RT?

I took the trailer hitch off my 2014 RTS and put it on my 2021 RT. The other day I noticed my license plate was bent. I have figured out the hitch ball is coming up and hitting the plate on large bumps. I am guessing the 2014 hitch is not going to work on the 2021. Has anyone else tried using an older hitch on a 2020+ RT? Maybe the hitch for a 2020+ is a little longer?

When I asked my dealer about moving my hitch from my 2014 rts to my 2022 rt limited, which is in transit, he said the hitch was the same part number. The control module and electronics were different though.
I’ll be watching this thread for any updated info….

I purchased an older BRP hitch from a member here, I can't remember the year model.

I have it on my 2020 RTL and it works great.

I went back and located the thread where I purchased the hitch. It was listed as a 2014 model. Do you have a raised ball by any chance?
Also I assume that you have checked the air bag just to make sure it's working as it is supposed to.

I also just measured the distance from the top of the ball to the bottom of my tag bracket. 4"
