2020+ TRUNK Strut Issues - a new solution

I did this to the trunk strut and it works pretty good. SlingMods makes a heavy shock if someone doesn't want the spring method.

That’s awesome, had no idea anyone made an aftermarket replacement I’ll be ordering one today. Thanks for posting.

But anyway … the new trunk strut mentioned above is not made by Slingmods it is a Show Chrome product. I ordered mine from Lamonster yesterday … looking forward to getting it installed on Monday.

I didn’t know Lamonster carried the heavier duty trunk strut until after I had already ordered it from slingmods otherwise I would for sure have ordered it from Lamonster especially since I have a battery on the way from them already.

I received my strut today and got it installed - it works perfectly. I happy to now have both broken struts repaired - seat and trunk.

I bought mine from SlingMods and installed it last week. I can honestly say it makes a huge difference. That's one strong strut right there.

Good info. Thanks for sharing. I had mine replaced under warranty last month.

I had mine replaced a few months ago under the extended warranty on our 2020 RTL. Mechanic told me there was a bad batch of these things released. Had the same issue with the drivers seat too. Both are rock solid for holding the lid/seat up.
