There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2020 RTL OWNERS - How did you route your battery tender pigtail? 2020 Owner only..

Prefer to hear from 2020 RT Limited Owners only on how you rooted your pigtail?

I believe earlier years were different and I think something had changed in the newer ones.

Your simplest ?

Your hardest ?

Also anyone know if you could route the cable and attach if under the removable storage compartment below the instrument cluster? i do not know what is below but it could be a simple straight shot? Jus thinking out loud...

Jeez I see that I have already posed this question some time ago, freaking old age.

Sorry for the double posting

TIA

Very simple, I just installed the wire onto the battery and pulled the end into the frunk liner then just zipped the two zippers almost together meeting at the plug/cable.

I would rather keep that access door closed as oem. I think I understand, I see that others have removed the rubber plug next to the battery door and ran the cable though that , but again I would like to keep the frunk closed.

Thanks

Mine came from the dealer installed but it was just routed over the top of the battery cover. I installed the Limited frunk liner and there's a hole for it in that. Never had an issue although I rarely had to use it.

I installed an isolated fuse block which had leads that connected to the battery to power the block. There were connections for constant power on the aux. block, attached charger pigtail to these and routed to the left A-arm and used a cable tie to hold it in place.
Very accessible and unobtrusive. YRMV

If you want to route the wire to the glove box, no problem! There's a knock-out plug at the bottom you can come thru similar to the USB and AUX wires in there.

I combined my need for a battery charger connection with my need for a connector for heated gear. I mounted a connector directly below the drivers seat on the left side. This connector is fused for the heated gear and is wired directly to the battery, so I can plug my battery maintainer into it without having to open any panels at all. You can see the connector with a hinged seald cover in this photo. Also, there is one for the passenger visible under the grip handle. I can plug the battery tender into either one.

Mine came from the dealership with a pigtail zip-tied to the front of the right upper control arm and run directly to the battery.

Similar to jetfixer I have mine under the seat with a bit xtra length and I also use it for heated gear. Lift seat, pull it out, close seat.

Attached to the upper control arm seems like the perfect place but I wonder if the plug would pick up road dirt and moisture. I know they have a cover on them.....just wondering.

I've not had a problem with dirt or moisture. The cover fits very snuggly. A dab of dielectric grease should help ward of the occurrence of such.

I mounted a fuse block/accessory behind the top left black pop out panel, opposite side of the brake reservoir, from there I routed the charger plug from under the seat to the fuse block. It's nice having the fuse block under that particular panel, easy access and centrally located. Good location for the mirror mounted directional/running lights, glove box usb plugs, camera system, led light bar and GPS power.

Mine is near the fan shroud on the left side. Got it zip tied to one of the holes in the fan shroud. No issues with water or crud due to the tender having a nice watertight cover.

I have mine right in front of me. I use my power port for my heated gear and for my battery tender. It's connected directly to the battery.

Yeah, my plug is in the same place, K80…..seeing your frunk up when you are about to ride off is a great reminder to disconnect:2thumbs:.

Another vote for the rubber plug routing method.

I cut the rubber plug and forced the wire through and reinstalled and have never had a water issue even riding in torrential downpours.
