• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020 RTL, No AM Radio?

The AM radio bands seem to NOT be on the 2020's anymore. My new 2019 F3 is the same. No AM band...but the sound and distance on the FM bands seems to be further than on the 2014 (which still has the AM band).

The downside...no more talk radio. :roflblack:

BRP engineers probably concluded that amplitude modulation circuitry was far to heavy and the 2020 frame would need strengthening . :joke::joke::joke:

Talk radio exists, it's all part of cultural media, you know, similar to TV news. Yep, I will miss it, but I can live without it. I simply posted that I noticed it was missing, I thought it was odd, first vehicle I ever purchased with no AM radio, I do notice there is FM.

There is talk radio on FM, just not many.

I am no longer a fan of talk radio. I like to listen to older country music stations. Many can be found on the FM band. We use our radio minimally though. We prefer to carry on bike to bike communication. Thank you Sena.

Gotta agree with you on that Traveler, lovin' those country classics, play them on my harmonica oh yeah. Mp3 is my friend. I'm am aware that AM/FM has it's limitations, like running out of range. As my original post, it is no biggie on my 2020, I was just surprised it was not there.

In the parts of the country I have toured, road alerts are broadcast on the AM band. Set up by local DOTs with a limited range. I found them useful..... Jim

Is there a external Am radio that can be plugged into the USB? Not suggesting a app that can use Data. But a small receiver that can be used versus an APP.
