• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020 RT Ltd Back up light access - need to change the bulb?!

Does anyone know how to change the backup light bulb on a 2020 RT Limited? I've looked in owners manual and all it says is take it to your dealer.

Oh boy!!!! NOT fun!!!! If you are sure the bulb is bad, you have to loosen the rear panel and tilt it back to get your hand in to replace it. That involves removing; the top case, the rear seat (to access trim screws), opening or removing the side cargo doors, and taking off the large trim panel that goes from the cargo door release handles to the tail lights. Then you can see the screws that hold the rear panel in place.

You may be able to loosen the top and rock it back far enough to get to the backup light bulb. If is frustrating and time consuming; I had to do it when I unstalled illuminated side marker lights.

If anyone out there has a better idea, I'm open to hearing it.

This has got to be the most difficult bike to work on that I have ever had. Something as simple as changing a back up light bulb requires disassembling the whole rear of the bike.

I purchased a 900+ page service manual and no where does it tell you how to remove the tupperware to get to the housing. When I finally get to the bulb there is more fun to come. The owners manual does not mention the part number for the bulb. Every motorcycle I have had in my 50 plus years of riding have always listed the fuse numbers and the part number for the bulb. Not Can Am. So I go to the parts manual and guess what. They list the part number for the housing and attaching parts but not for the bulb. Tried three different magnifying glasses and still can't make out the bulb number. I used to work on Bombardier Regional Jets and I thought they were terrible to work on, but I believe the Recreational Division have them beat. What a frustrating day. Off to the dealer tomorrow and just maybe they will have the part number and stock on this stinking bulb.

When you get the new bulb see if you can make out any numbers on it. If so post them back here so others would know what it is.
