• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020 RT Limited swirls in the paint

So my new 2020 RT Limited looks like the dealership washed it with sandpaper. Swirls in the paint EVERYWHERE. I bought some Maguires Swirl X, but it didn't seem to do a thing. Has anyone found a way to fix this?

This *sucks .... I'll bet whoever did the first or second wash didn't use enough water or didn't rinse it well while it was dirty .... the only thing I would try is a light polishing compound ..... and do a small inconspicuous area using almost no pressure .... wash and see if it worked .... if not try a little more pressure etc. ..... wishing you success .... I would agree with Mike. But not seeing what you have we are just guessing ..

But try a light rubbing compound in a small area first as suggested.

And also try the dealer first before you do anything as suggested.

I noticed on my 21 RTL that the Tupperware shows hairline scratches when the sun hits it just right. Really noticeable on the black top case. The finish needs a couple more layers of clear coat before it leaves the factory. Tried using Canuba wax, no luck. I will try some McGuires swirl remover and a couple of layers wax next. :banghead:

3M makes a clear coat wax, which is available at stores which sell automotive paint. Leaves the finish scratch and swirl free. But, your finish sounds like it needs a light buffing to eliminate most of the heavy stuff before wax.

Most of my glossy black trim has the swirl marks on them and I am also searching for a product which might help in removing them. I did come across a segment in the vlog “cruisemans garage” where he demonstrated how to remove light scratches from a Goldwings saddlebags. His demonstration would seem to be a bit much for a whole bike but may give you some ideas. I did not try his procedure so I have no first hade experience as it it’s effectiveness. I’m often concerned, when attempting repairs such as these, that I might make things worse.

That's a bummer for sure. Once you drive it off the lot, might be a stretch to get the dealer to do anything. Hope you find something that works. If not, Wrap my Syder, a vender here, sells a variety of decals that might cover the worst.
