• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020 Mirrors

Thanks, I think a slightly modified Magnet system could work ..... I'll have to go to a Dealership and examine those parts closely ( and take pics ).... I believe this is doable ..... Mike :ohyea: .... PS if anyone in Vt. has a 2020 RT that I can examine - my first set will be free to them ..... 05660

Yeah, many F3L riders are using double sided tape, Mike, and that seems to work. A magnet system would be much more elegant and would probably be in good demand

Mike, this is what I believe Albert is referring to. I’m sure he’ll correct me if I have it wrong. The cover that goes over the front of the F3 (and apparently the 2020RT) is held on by 3 clips. One on the far right, and one top and bottom on the left. These have questionable holding power and can fall off.

I have attached a photo from the front of the mirror assembly showing the clips, and one of the inside of the mirror cover. You can see the double sided tape I have applied that appears to hold it quite firmly, but is not an ideal solution.

I used a Zip tie to ensure the mirror cover remained in place
If I want to remove them I just snip the zip tie off and use a new one when refitting the mirror covers back on

Clever idea, Eddie:thumbup: . I still think a bit of double sided tape is even easier though. No need to drill, no need to snip and rethread, just replace a bit of tape if it has lost its adhesion.....and mine hasn’t after half a dozen remove and replaces.

Pete's right. Double side stick tape. Maybe $.50 cents worth each side does the trick. Tom :spyder:

There is no need for magic mirrors magnets on the 2020 RT. First they use the F3 style mount and will need weggies which Joe and Anne are working one (slightly different dimensions they told me). Second, like on the F3, there is no need to remove the mirrors for most maintenance like the old RT.

Yes, that’s true, JC, but the OP mentions “clips”, which leads me to believe that he is referring to the 3 less than secure clips that hold the F3 Touring models mirror cover on, greatly increasing its propensity to pop off when you hit any kind of bump.

Does anyone know how I can get a parts listing of the 2020 RT Limited mirror housing clips. When I removed the mirror housing the other night to adjust the headlights one of the clips fell off. I noticed that the small metal table that holds it on was missing.

Oh and the manual says to turn the adjusting screw clockwise to raise the headlight beam? It was actually counter clock wise to raise and clockwise to lower??

Thanks for your help! Stay Safe!!
