I was just explaining the opposite of what you say to people I work with that either don't ride or have a harvey danielson in the garage that they are "keeping the miles low on for the resale on their 95 stock sporty"
I said that I must be poor or from being raised that way to have something that costs 20k just sit or only have a handful of miles on it.
I do understand that there are real life factors that relate to this like kids, wifes that don't ride, normal jobs and not wanting to ride in the rain, wind or on cloudy days but I can not say that you can use a spyder up running it.
I see people on here with 1500 miles that have WAYYYY more problems than I do and I run it arguably too much or too hard.
From my limited experience with all toys you drive IF you let them sit they will go to crap more than the daily driver. I know this sounds silly because moving items wear and you have a chance to crash as soon as you get it moving but that does not change what I have seen.
Maybe its because I didn't buy mine to pull the tarp off it and say "look at quick before it get dirty" I mean thanks to lamont I DID win a award at a spyder show with the death machine.
Everyone that rides I consider a friend on the road and more so if they are on this site but friends can disagree and I think thru talking about disagreements is how people really get to see someone else's perspective.
Hey, Bro, no big deal. :doorag:
I haven't been on here in a while, so you might not remember that I don't post anything serious. Ever. :joke:
Also, anybody who has ridden with me knows I seem to not be able to ride the Spyder unless its a torrential downpour, or 20 degrees outside, or a 40mph crosswind, or snowing. Or that one time I picked up a pizza to go when it was minus 25 and I put the box in the front trunk vertically and drove it home.
I guess I just don't measure my fun (well, yeah--and pain) on it in terms of miles on the odometer.
If I had to, I suppose I might ask myself how many great places I've been on it, or how many awesome people have I met while riding it or because I own one. Or how many people have invited me into their homes (or I have had in my home) and workplaces because of it. Or how many #$^%&-ing banners (and Sharpies) I drove between two countries and signed.
Not to mention how many hours entertainment I have gotten reading posts here since August of 2007.
Well, there's a nice storm churning outside now. The 22 inches that fell last week has sintered a bit, but now we're getting some nice cosmetic snow:
...so I have to sign off, warm up the Spyder and take a ride tonight.
Yeah. I live in the "white" area:roflblack:
Advice from an old man: Enjoy your ride. Don't count the miles.
