• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2019 RTL - what are the correct on/off switches, like the foglight and grip heater switches?

I want to put an on/off switch in one of the empty switch blanks. I think the switches are Carlings. From my searches here, it looks like BRP changed the hole size in the 2020+ RTLs. Mine is a 2019, so I want to be sure I get the right thing.

Is this the correct one? https://rockerswitchpros.com/product/v1d1-g66b/
If so, it looks like I'll also need their removal tool, a custom actuator with lens (see pic), and bottom lens. I'd get a gasket too, just to be safe. See my cart pic.

For those that have done this, let me know if this will work, please.

For those interested, I want to wire my new underglow LEDs directly to the battery so I don't have to turn the bike "ON" and have the running lights on in order to run the underglows while parked. However, these have a bit of parasitic drain even when not turned on to keep the RF remote receiver module powered. Therefore, I want the switch to eliminate any possibility of parasitic drain. And yes, I know the dangers of running the battery down if I'm not careful. I have yet to measure the current draw of these... right now I'm just planning... but I cannot imagine the 8 little LED strips in this kit use that much.

Project done! It turns out you need the amber lights. The one shown with two lights is model V1D1-GKKB and a very close match to OEM. If I had to do it again, I’d see if they make a custom marine face (with the raised dots). I’m very pleased with the result and can now turn my underglow on and off without the engine running. I just snapped some quick garage photos, it looks much better at night. The LEDs can be basically any color, but this thread is more about the switch.

Edit: how do I get iPhone pics into this? It says they are too large for the server.

Edit 2: I emailed myself photos from apple mail, chose "medium" picture size. Resaved them from incoming email, then uploaded.

You should be able to either re-size the image itself or drop the quality of the image a bit on your device itself to make the image file small enough to load; or you might need to use a re-sizing app &/or a hosting site to make the file small enough. But regardless of how you make the image file small enough to load, once you've uploaded them here, please follow the directions in the Sticky linked below to Insert them as Thumbnails so that even small screen viewers will stand some chance of seeing them. ;)
