2018 F3 Limited - How do I turn off the radio

Hello,
Love the new F3 but have a question. Is there a way to turn off the radio or do we just have to leave the volume very low/muted so we don’t hear it? We ride with music streamed from our phone to our Scala Packtalks so we don’t need the F3 radio on.

Volume set to the lowest is as close as you are going to get with turning the radio "off."

But...you would think they could supply an "off" switch for the money. :roflblack:

Mute or AUX mode with nothing connected

You could set the input to AUX (short press the ECO button then press the MODE button opposite the ECO) and make sure nothing is plugged into the AUX input = silence. Or, set it to NAV same result. If you have a zumo with audio out, NAV would be your best bet. That way you would hear the GPS prompts and have silence when not.
I could not afford the pricey zumo so I modified a Garmin nüvi 56 to have audio out. Details can be found CLICK-->here< along with how to locate the audio in for NAV and lots more info.

Yes, seems to work most of the time now with the new sw. Version.
Turn vol all the way down the hold the down joy button. It will turn off.
The X will appear showing it is off. However, it seems to come on whenever it wants too. Untill last update now seems to stay off most of the time. I think they still have some sw fixes to do yet.

Your dealer should have all software up to date when you pick it up. The latest radio update is 13.20 unless there has been another since June 2018. Haven't read about any. 13.20 fixed most problems. When you pick it up go into settings. Then scroll down to about. You can see the latest update there.

I had the same issue

and a software update when I had my service done in September fixed it. Now it is muted with an X on the speaker icon. It was clearly a bug.

Do not assume this as I did only to find out otherwise. When salesman was showing us the controls and how the fault codes can be displayed there was one showing so he took it to service to have it cleared.
When he came back he told us it would be awhile as there were a number of sw updates that were being downloaded.
Bottom line - ask to be sure.

That's because you have a 2016 with old screen. 2018 has the new screen.They can be updated with new software.
